A letter to my sister
Written for a speech at my sisterās wedding.
I met you 26 years ago through my parents. Our relationship was a bit rocky for the first 10 years until our brother recruited me to his team. I teamed up with him to put glue on your legs, make your bed wet with warm water, put cigarette butts in your mouth, make you do Kylie Jennerās lips. The best part was that we did all of them to you while you were sleeping.
After all of that, you still love us.
It shows that you have the biggest heart in the family. Growing up, you taught me how to be brave, compassionate, and kind. I can honestly say that I have always looked up to you. You played a big role in influencing me to be who I am today. You will be my best friend forever because there is no one else like you. I will respect you as always I have, and I will always love you.
As we move on with our lives – discover new people and places, I realize how lucky I am to have a sister who is also my best friend. I am even luckier to have a brother in law like him.
To my brother in law, you helped me understand to ādonāt judge a book by its coverā. At first, I was very intimidated by you, your appearance (dark clothing, piercing, and tattoos), taste of music (hardcore metal), and even your driving, a little too badass for me! But, once I got to know you, I never expected to find that you have the warmest heart.
She looks so much more cheerful and relaxed when you are around. The way you love her with lots of hugs and kisses always makes me smile. There is a saying āA healthy and happy relationship requires two healthy and happy individualsā and I see that in you guys. I couldnāt be happier to have you as my brother in law.
Iām so proud of you for finding each other.
My best wishes for the best sister in the world who has now also become the most beautiful bride! Remember the love you feel today. Remember to look back on it daily and measure how much it grows over the years.
Cheers!
